What is Yin Yoga?
It is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses held for longer periods of time.
Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body – the Yin tissues – the ligaments, tendons and fascia – the band surrounding and separating muscle tissue. This practice aims to improve strength, flexibility and increase the circulation in the joints.
Yin not only helps the physical body but creates a space for stillness of the mind. Within this stillness, emotions often have a place to rise up. This is good. What rises, is seeking release. In this stillness, we observe what arises.
Benefits of Yin Yoga:
* Increased circulation
* A calmer and more balanced body and mind
* Potentially less stress and anxiety
*Fascial release – the band surrounding and connecting muscle tissue
* Increased joint mobility
* Improved flow of energy within the body
