Gentle Yoga

Come join me for a Gentle Yoga Class.

Experience a slower paced style of yoga, focusing on the connective tissues of the body - the ligaments, tendons and fascia – the band surrounding and separating muscle tissue, and joints. This practice aims to improve strength, flexibility and increase the circulation in the joints.

Gentle Yoga not only helps the physical body but creates a space for stillness of the mind. Within this stillness, emotions often have a place to rise up. This is good. What rises, is seeking release. In this stillness, we observe what arises.

Points to remember in Yoga:
- Always find ‘your own’ edge, don’t go straight to your ‘maximum’ stretch in the pose
- Move slowly and gently into the pose
- Never stretch so far as to cause pain
- Discomfort is good. Pain is not good!
- Slowly drop or release into the pose, remain still, breathe
- Hold the pose

Benefits of Gentle Yoga:
- Increased circulation
- A calmer and more balanced body and mind
- Potentially less stress and anxiety
- Fascial release – the band surrounding and connecting muscle tissue
- Increased joint mobility
- Improved flow of energy within the body, including the organs connected to the meridians
